SERVICES

GSM provides collection and treatment services for all kinds of waste for customers located at all bases and most ports along the coast of Gulf, Red Sea and India. Regardless of location, waste will be collected, recycled and treated in accordance to current legislation at respective locations. We ensure that waste is disposed of safely and in compliance with the strictest local, state and federal standards. GSM tracks all waste which is delivered. This means that we can monitor the waste streams and provide certificate for each disposal.

OILY BILGE WATER

is the mixture of water, oily fluids, lubricants and grease, cleaning fluids and other wastes that accumulate in the lowest part of a vessel from a variety of sources including engines (and other parts of the propulsion system), piping, and other mechanical and operational sources.

DIRTY BALLAST WATER

is discharged to the environment after being processed through OCMs (Oil Content Monitors) and/or OWS (oily water separator) systems that ensure the ballast water fuel/oil concentrations are below Federal standards.

OILY RESIDUES (SLUDGE)

is composed of residue and oily sediments formed in engine rooms, fuel tanks of vessels or cargo tanks of oil tankers.

SCALE & SLUDGE FROM TANK CLEANING

is an extremely hazardous activity. Beware that in tanks where sludge or scale is present, disturbing the sludge on man-entry can release trapped vapours. This may cause the atmosphere to re-enter the flammable zone. However our professional teams are well trained in cleaning the tanks in such environment.

OILY TANK WASHING

is washing out the residue from the tanks of an oil tanker using the crude oil cargo itself, after the cargo tanks have been emptied. Crude oil is pumped back and preheated in the slop tanks, then sprayed back via high pressure nozzles in the cargo tanks onto the walls of the tank.

GARBAGE

includes all kinds of food, domestic and operational waste excluding fresh fish and parts thereof, generated during the normal operation of the vessel.
